(William Mandagout) 


Biography



  • came from Mandagout (close to Lodeve).
  • 1270: Student in Bologna and Canonicus in Nimes, was taught by Berengarius Fredoli (dedicated his Summa Electionum to him).
  • 1275: Doctor Decretorum in Bologna.
  • 1285: Takes part in negotiations in Imola as Archdeacon of Nimes (further: papal chaplain, Archdeacon of Uticensis and provost of Toulouse).
  • 1295: Archbishop of Embrun.
  • 1305: Archbishop of Aix.
  • 1312: Cardinal Bishop of Praeneste.
  • Papabile
  • 1321: Death in Avignon.
