Biography

 

  • Birth as Vibiano Tommasi.
  • Called il Maestro.
  • Archdeacon at cathedral chapter of Orvieto.
  • 1175: Cardinalate.
  • 1175: Cardinal Priest (S. Stefano al Monte Celio).
  • Death: After November 1185 in Rome.


Activities as Canonist



  • 1169: Advocate at papal curia
  • 5th May-25th August 1775: Subscribed papal bulls.
  • 1184: Legate of Pope Alexander III in Scotland and Ireland, presided over the Council of Cashel, named the first bishop of this kingdom.
  • 1181: Participation in the Papal Election of Lucius III.
  • 1185: Participation in the Papal Election of Urban III.
